On June 5, 2013, at the Microsoft Partner Conference in Houston, Texas, we were the proud recipients of the 2013 Microsoft Application Integration Partner of the Year award for developing an outstanding solution in the middleware and integration space. Accepted by Dapasoft’s President, Michael Lonsway, we were happy to be selected out of 3,000 entrants and 640,000 partners from across the globe. Our strategic partnership with William Osler Health System (WOHS) provided us with the opportunity to develop a solution that included the first global production release of BizTalk 2013.
As one of the largest hospitals in Ontario, WOHS, provides services to nearly 1 million residents, making it difficult to share files on the growing number of patients in the system, and to manage the increasing number of disparate clinical systems. As healthcare organizations move quickly toward the integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR), efficient integration of many interfaces and software applications is key to accomplishing seamless information sharing. To improve the delivery of healthcare services, to drive down the total cost of ownership (TCO) and to move healthcare IT on the path towards a service-oriented architecture (SOA), we developed Corolar Integration Engine. Created to simplify HL7 development on the Microsoft BizTalk platform, Corolar provides healthcare providers a simple way to document, develop, and manage HL7 solutions.
Upon the implementation of Corolar, WOHS improved workflows, and reduced time spent on data entry and training previously required to operate a number of different vendor systems. Additionally, the solution offered a set of HL7 adapters built upon the Microsoft platform to enable easy integration of healthcare solutions, such as Microsoft HealthVault and Clinical Data Repositories. Our unique combination of Microsoft BizTalk Server and Corolar provided an enterprise grade integration environment that will be able to scale as WOHC grows.
